About this Panther

Brian Michael Bowers passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 11, 2008, at only 30 years of age.

He was born on Aug. 17, 1977, in Santa Monica, Calif., moved to Newbury Park when he was only a year old, and remained a resident of Newbury Park for nearly his whole life.

Brian graduated from Newbury Park High School in 1995. He attended Moorpark College the following year, then, despite never playing high school football, earned a scholarship to Division 1 school Utah State, where he attended and played football for three years.

After college, Brian returned home to the Conejo Valley and worked as a mortgage broker for Pacific Financial West Mortgage and Real Estate in Westlake Village until the present date.

His many favorite activities included going to the beach with family and friends, doing fun activities with his children, nieces and nephew, playing basketball with his brothers, watching movies, lifting weights, and training or watching UFC and other mixed martial arts events.

Brian enjoyed life, had fun in everything he did, and made sure everyone around him did, too. It was impossible to know Brian without loving him. In a group of funny, charismatic, dynamic friends, Brian was the brightest star of all. He had an imposing physical presence, but those who knew him well knew that he had the biggest heart in the world. Brian was one of the most beautiful people, inside and out, that you could ever meet, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his grandfather, J. Donald Bowers; parents, Anne and Jeffrey Bowers; brothers, John and Michael Bowers; sister, Jacqueline Bowers; wife, Hope Bowers; daughters, Katlin and Kinley Bowers; and son, Tyson Bowers. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Bryce Jordan, Kerri Bowers, and Marielle Bowers; and cherished uncle to nieces, Taylor and Ava Bowers; and nephew, Jack Bowers.
